Our Sports Zone connects youth athletes with real role models—Olympians, pro athletes, champions, and game-changers who've walked the path and are now reaching back to uplift the next generation. These professionals share their stories, offer advice, and sometimes even mentor or speak directly to our students.

Kevin Young

A UCLA walk‑on who rose to legend status in the 400 m hurdles, Kevin Young shattered records and history at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics by setting a world and Olympic record of 46.78 seconds—becoming the first ever to break the 47‑second barrier. He further cemented his legacy by winning the 1993 World Championship and was inducted into the National Track & Field Hall of Fame in 2006

Quincy Watts

Quincy Watts is a two‑time Olympic gold medalist from the 1992 Barcelona Games, where he blitzed to victory in the 400 m (43.50s) and helped set a then-world-record in the 4×400 m relay.
