Celebrating Culture & Community on Cinco de Mayo – May 5, 2025

At Club Surge USA, we believe in honoring diversity, culture, and the vibrant communities that shape our world. Today, we celebrate Cinco de Mayo, a day that holds historical and cultural meaning, particularly within the Mexican-American community.

Contrary to popular belief, Cinco de Mayo is not Mexico’s Independence Day. It commemorates the Mexican army’s victory over French forces at the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862. Though not a major holiday in Mexico, it has become a meaningful celebration of Mexican heritage, pride, and resilience, especially across the United States.

Why We Celebrate

Cinco de Mayo is a chance to:

  • Honor the strength and spirit of Mexican culture.

  • Celebrate contributions of Mexican-American communities in shaping art, food, music, and identity in the U.S.

  • Promote inclusivity and cultural awareness in our spaces.

How Club Surge USA Honors the Day

This year, we celebrate through movement, community, and connection:

  • 💃 Cultural Dance Sessions inspired by Latin rhythms.

  • 🥑 Healthy Mexican-Inspired Recipes shared throughout our platforms.

  • 🧘 Mindfulness & Reflection workshops that honor cultural traditions and mental wellness.

Join the Celebration

We invite all of our members and friends to learn, engage, and celebrate with respect. Whether you’re trying a new class, learning a new recipe, or simply taking a moment to appreciate the culture—every small act counts.

Let’s honor the history and heart of Cinco de Mayo together—with gratitude, joy, and unity.
